The Gabinet de les Arts Gràfiques de Barcelona - DHUB has loaned 131 pieces to the National Library of Spain for their Tricentennial.  The loan includes punches and dies from the 18th century that were used in the making of characters for books editted by the Royal Library. 

At the moment of their manufacture, Spanish printing was lacking sufficient typographical material to meet all of its needs. En el moment de fabricació d'aquests la impremta espanyola estava mancada de suficient material tipogràfic per abastir totes les seves necessitats. It was engraver Jerónimo Gil who was entrusted with the manufacture of these new punches to create diverse grades of characters. He also relied on the participation of Francisco Javier de Santiago Palomares, who collaborated in the assessment of the formal conception of the characters of the Royal Libraray.
