New Publication: Fabvolution. Advances in Digital Fabrication

07/26/2012 - 13:44

The Disseny Hub Barcelona presents Fabvolution. Advances in Digital Fabrication, a publication that brings together the activities that took place between 2010 and 2011 during the programme Fabrication Laboratory.

Digital fabrication technologies open new opportunities for design professionals of the 21st century and give life to more flexible project methodologies. This new technological paradigm effects all phases of production: from conception to materialization, from distribution to purchase, while at the same time bringing an effective implementation of the participation and personalization processes.

What kind of effects are thereon the creative process with the possibility to bring to life ideas and mental structures whose natural environment is the digital world? Are we truly capable of constructing everything that our imagination can propose? What new shapes wait for us? What kind of barriers will arrive on the horizon of the digital and physical worlds? Exciting questions with speculative answers that this publication tries to elucidate.
