The Museu de les Arts Decoratives de Barcelona, which was incorporated into Disseny Hub Barcelona as a patrimony fund this year, is marking the 75th anniversary of its inception by publishing a commemorative book featuring the highlights of the institution’s patrimonial activity during this period.

The presentation of this publication, entitled “El Museu de les Arts Decoratives de Barcelona, 1932-2007. 75 anys”, took place on Wednesday, 18 March in the DHUB Pedralbes building.

Synopsis

“El Museu de les Arts Decoratives de Barcelona, 1932-2007. 75 anys” provides a unique review of historical data facilitating a comparison of the various stages of the institution’s development.

The publication also describes some of the key aspects of the museum’s history, notably the growth of its collections, the display criteria applied and the visionary ideals the Museu de les Arts Decoratives has pursued throughout its history.

The book’s documentary value is reinforced by a wealth of period images which illustrate, contextualise and provide a better understanding of its content.
