SpeakerWire is a piece that sculpts forms in wire on the basis of sound input. This is an art resource and at the same time an exercise in fabrication.
The machine interacts by physically ‘encoding’ the sound, in a simplified sound wave environment. When the device pushes and bends the wire to make it take on different forms it creates the tangible manifestation of a sound.
When the user speaks into a small microphone placed in front of the device it responds to the stimulus of the voice by pushing and bending the wire.
